Love Collage

We recently have been testing out the My Vinyl Direct Matte Finish Vinyl. I honestly just can’t get enough of it. With their amazing color selection there is ultimately nothing you can’t do. I think my husband is starting to get nervous with how long my vinyl craft to do list has been getting. (Oops ha ha ha) Well this week I took all my lovely valentine’s day colors laid them out in front of me and thought to myself…”What do I see when I look at all these wonderful colors?”

Those Reds, Pinks, and Purples!!! It just screamed “LOVE” to me!!!! I Love the colors, I Love to craft, and I LOVE to work with vinyl!!!! So then it dawned on me. I wanted to make a collage of words defining the word LOVE.

I had gone through my box picture frames and found one with great personality it just needed a little TLC. After I pulled the glass out, I gave the frame a fresh coat of paint with some dark cherry pearlescent enamel paint that I had lying around. While the frame was set aside drying I jumped on my design program and laid out my words using different font styles and sizes making sure it will fit the frame size. The frame was a standard 8 x 10 with viewable glass of 7.5 in x 9.5 in. After it was all laid out I was able to cut it out on my Cameo. By using the guides on my vinyl transfer paper I felt comfortable enough to cut my letters out to save on materials. It’s is a little easier to lay out this way when you are confined into one space and you can look over at your pc to confirm where you are putting it.

Making sure that my glass was clean I started laying out my vinyl starting with the outer edge and working my way around into the center. I would look back at the measurements on the pc screen and measure again with a ruler on the glass to assure that I was leaving enough space for the other words. I would say the whole process (besides letting the frame dry over night) took 2 hours. Not bad for a lovely piece of art great for the Valentine season.

We look forward to sharing more of our vinyl creations.

Re-Writable Love Note

Craft Vinyl Sheets for Cricut Silhouette Cutters

I am so excited to share a project that I did for our sponsor My Vinyl Direct. I am just madly in love with the quality of there vinyl and I have been using it when ever I get a chance.

There is so much that you can do with vinyl. I probably find a new use for it at least once every couple days.  Once again we got to test an awesome product from My Vinyl Direct. I am such a fan of their products. Recently we tested out their Whiteboard Vinyl and I can’t wait to share with you what we did with it.

This past summer I found a box full of old photo frames for free on the side of the road.  (Very few that were reusable as photo frames) However I knew that they could be used for other projects so I picked it up anyway. The other day I was going through that old box and came across this old porcelain frame that was faded and the original white paint was scratching away. The glass was all fogged up and yellow. Not really something that can be used on the photo wall.

So I took a light grit sanding paper and sanded down the frame to get any extra paint chips off and dirt that was coated on the frame over the years.  I took some of my silver metallic lacquer spray paint and sprayed the frame.

While the frame was drying I cut my White Marker Board Vinyl to cover the old glass. The glass measured to 5.25 in wide by 7 in high. I laid the specialty vinyl over the glass and worked out any tiny bubbles that I may have occurred.

After my whiteboard vinyl was adhered to the glass I took the measurements of the glass and the frame itself to see how much of the frame overlapped the glass.  These measurements were taken to be able to add my pink vinyl frame that I cut out using my Cameo.  I also cut out the words “Love Note” out of the frame for an extra added touch.

Then I laid my pink vinyl over the whiteboard I slid the glass back into the frame and wrote my message.

Once again we used the My vinyl Direct Chalk Marker. I am a sucker for pink as you can see. I just love the way this marker writes. Better yet I love how it wipes clean without staining your vinyl.  Now you have the perfect re-writable love note great for any counter in the house.

Some other Awesome things that happened lately. We were featured this week on My Vinyl Direct for our 14 Day of Love Project.

Blackboard Vinyl Labels

KiKi Love Creations Loves Vinyl

So when My Vinyl Direct asked us to review some of their products we were more than thrilled. I started working with vinyl about 3 months ago and I was hook. However when I got to take a look at My Vinyl Directs Inventory I was on CLOUD 9.  They offer so many amazing colors choices in either mat or glossy style finish. They also have specialty vinyl such as Blackboard, Whiteboard, Fabric, and even Glow in the Dark Vinyl. My head just started spinning. My vinyl project list must had grown a mile long over night.  They also offer an array of other vinyl accessories at very affordable prices. Having now used their product I can honestly say that I will never purchase my vinyl anywhere else. The thickness and quality of their vinyl is better than you can find in any of your local craft stores.

We recently tested out their Blackboard Vinyl, Mat finish vinyl, and one of their Pink Chalk Markers for a Valentine’s Day Lighted Bottle Project. Yesterday we were featured on the My Vinyl Directs Blog Page where you can find the review and the tutorial on this project. Hop on over there and give them some KLC LOVE!!!!

Watch for more projects that we have coming up using vinyl you won’t want to miss it.
